This annual yard sale closely follows the original Dixie Highway through 90 miles of northwest Georgia from Ringgold to Marietta. Local communities participating include Adairsville, Cassville, Cartersville, and Emerson.

Free Outdoor Movie - The Secret Life of Pets

It doesn't get much better than FREE, family-friendly movies in the park! Universal Pictures' The Secret Life of Pets (rated PG) will be projected onto a giant inflatable screen after sundown.

 

Arrive at 6 p.m. for pre-movie entertainment, giveaways and outdoor fun. For your comfort, bring a blanket or low-back chairs. Pop-up tents, canopies or beach umbrellas that can obstruct the view of others are not permitted. Concessions will be available for purchase. Cancellations may occur due to weather conditions.

Marty Stuart is a five time GRAMMY-winner, platinum recording artist, Grand Ole Opry star, country music archivist, Southern culture historian, photographer, musician, songwriter, TV show host, charismatic force of nature, and country music fan.

 

Since starting out singing gospel as a child, Stuart, 54, has spent over four decades celebrating American roots music with a missionary's zeal. His teenage years on tour with bluegrass legend Lester Flatt in the '70s were followed by six years in Johnny Cash's band during the '80s and a chart-topping tenure as a solo artist in the '90s.

Thomas A. Dorsey Gospel Heritage Festival

The festival features some of the best artists in the genres of gospel, blues and jazz. The festival kicks off on Friday night at the MILL Amphitheatre in Downtown Villa Rica with live jazz. Saturday features an afternoon Gospel Service at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church, where Dorsey learned to play the piano. This will be followed by a blues show at the MILL Amphitheatre later that evening.
