Georgia Gravity Games

Downtown Douglasville will be home to the second Georgia Gravity Games. The event is a real- world experience for students and adults from across the state to use STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills to build and race their own gravity-powered cars. Cars may be propelled only using gravity to get them across the finish line.
Team check in for the event will begin at 7:30 a.m. The 2015 Gravity Games will begin at 9 a.m.
36th Annual City of Douglasville Moonlight Run October 24th - Saturday; 6:00pm Douglasville Conference Center
Offering a variety of distances, from a tot trot for the little guys, to 1 mile for school age children, and a 5K through the streets of downtown Douglasville, this race has something for everyone...and it's in the dark! This is one of the largest after-dark runs in the Southeast, with approximately 2,000 participants. The race features a chip-timed USATF certified 5K course and is part of the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series. Your finish time for the 5K event can be used as a qualifying time for seeding in the Peachtree Road Race.
The film features a band of pre-teens who live in the "Goon Docks" neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon attempting to save their homes from demolition, and in doing so, discover an old Spanish map that leads them on an adventure to unearth the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willie, a legendary 17th-century pirate.
